Eating fruit does not spike blood sugar or insulin provided that one is consuming a low fat diet. Excess dietary fat is what causes insulin resistance (type II diabetes). Fruits are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, enzymes and phytonutrients. Fruits contain protein as 2-4% of calories so eating a fruit only diet will not create a protein deficiency. Cycling prevents any long term nutritional deficiencies from methionine restriction. Fruits need not be 100% organic. Follow the EWG dirty dozen guidelines. Fruits may be fresh, frozen or dried. Avoid processed fruit juices. A high fruit diet restores heath at many levels. Recommended reading is the book "80-10-10" by Dr. Doug Graham.
